Allergy Skin Testing…
Allergy skin tests are the most accurate diagnostic
tests used by trained allergist/immunologists.
These tests will determine the presence of allergic
antibodies to different environmental agents. The
number and type of test varies depending on your
age and the clinical evaluation by your physician. A
special plastic disposable device is used to
administer the majority of tests. This applicator
makes it much easier on our pediatric patients. Most
children tolerate these tests with minimal discomfort;
however, if you are concerned that you or your child
will not tolerate these tests without severe
discomfort, please let our nursing staff know.
